Telecom centres in Rozzano, Bologna and Padua

This project refers to the construction of three tri-generative islands at three Telecom sites: Bologna, Padua and Rozzano. The new installations will serve the company’s data centres. They have been conceived as “outdoor installations in cabins”.
The cogeneration units are completely identical and have a net electrical power of 2 MW. Particular attention was paid to the MV and thermal electrical interconnections. From the plant engineering point of view, the interventions included the design of the following sections: cogeneration plant with endothermic gas engine and alternator installed inside a sound-proofed container; container with electrical control panels for the engine and central auxiliaries, medium voltage panel and transformer to raise the medium voltage; absorption unit with relative evaporation tower; dry coolers, systems to reduce emissions into the atmosphere (oxidising catalyst), chimney.
